While the Porsche Packs are deserving of their time in the spotlight at the moment, Kunos is seemingly never content with what is and are already planning content releases well into the next year. While what you should and shouldn’t expect from the game has been highlighted earlier this year, the Alfa Romeo Giulia was also briefly mentioned in the Summer Special episode of Kunos’ developer stream, Look What the Cat Hacked In. When asked whether or not the Giulia would be included in the game, Marco Massarutto responded that there were plans in motion, but nothing was set in stone at that particular time. Earlier this month Marco once again took to his Facebook page, and laid suspicions to rest, confirming that the Giulia has been licensed for the game and is set for next year: “Since I don’t know how many sunrises we’ll see yet, I’m glad to anticipate that the Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio is confirmed in Assetto Corsa in 2017 as officially licensed … [Read more...] about Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio Coming to Assetto Corsa Next Year

The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and Mercedes-AMG C63 S have been put head-to-head in our latest group test. The rejuvenation of Alfa Romeo as a proper performance brand has brightened spirits and rekindled warm sentiments aplenty these past five years – and long may its ascendant trajectory continue. It’s not like us serious road test types to hand out credit that hasn’t been won the hard way, against some satellite timing gear or in a repeatable test. But before we get stuck in to what’s about to be a very tough test indeed for Alfa’s latest – the Giulia Quadrifoglio, in action on UK soil for the first time – let’s take a moment to salute the effort, faith, commitment and skill that it has taken to get the Italian firm this far. The 4C wasn’t perfect, but it was a strong statement of intent and a decent start on the long road back to credibility. The ‘new’ Mazda MX-5- twinned Duetto Spider didn’t happen … [Read more...] about Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio vs Mercedes-AMG C63 S: super saloon twin test
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce will make its debut at the Paris motor show. The hot saloon will be below the Quadrifoglio in the Giulia line-up. Alfa Romeo revealed details of its new rival for the Audi S4 on its German media website. Read about this year's Paris motor show here The Giulia Veloce will be available with either a 276bhp 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which produces maximum torque of 295lb ft, or a 2.2-litre 207bhp diesel, with 347lb ft. These are both tuned versions of existing engines in the Giulia line-up, and are new to the Alfa Romeo range. In Germany, where the car has been officially announced, the car is only available with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive. Its four-wheel drive nature is the sticking point for selling the car in the UK, according to an … [Read more...] about Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce will appear at Paris motor show

► 2000-mile adventure drive ► In the 503bhp super-Giulia ► Mountains, autobahns, citiesI’ve always loved the idea of doing a triathlon but have been put-off by the concept of sustained physical exertion. Luckily there’s an automotive version that can be completed from the comfort of an air-conditioned car – and because it ends in Italy, a mountain of pizza and Peroni awaits at the finish line, rather than some fruit and leg-ache.The route is simple – put ‘Bormio’ in the sat-nav and when you get to Calais turn left towards Cologne rather than the Mont Blanc tunnel. That way you get fast autobahns, twisty Alpine passes and narrow urban streets in an all-inclusive triple test of a car’s ability – with top speed, handling, and agility all stretched to the maximum.A 2000 mile adventure through Europe requires an equally epic car, of course. It needs to be comfortable, fast, fun to drive, ideally Italian, and … [Read more...] about Adventure drive to the Alps in the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio
We are, it’s safe to say, extremely excited about the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia. The tidy rear-drive sports sedan very clearly has BMW in its gunsights—particularly in 510-hp, twin-turbo V-6 Quadrifoglio spec. And from what we’ve heard so far, it’s got a scintillating soundtrack. This Nürburgring video of a lightly camouflaged example only confirms that.Posted by Nürburgring maven and solid YouTube poster “cvdzijden,” what we have here is nearly two minutes of a dazzle-wrapped Giulia attacking the famous Green Hell. The car looks very well planted, with only brief moments at the ragged edge of traction. The engine sounds fierce and strong, and the brakes seem particularly powerful—at certain moments of braking leading into the ’Ring’s tight corners, we see the car’s hazard lights flashing, a European-market safety feature activated by extremely hard braking.See and Hear the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio On TrackWhy … [Read more...] about Watch the Alfa Romeo Giulia Testing at the Nürburgring
If Alfa Romeo wants its new Giulia sports sedan to truly go head to head with the BMW 3-series, it can’t afford to offer just one body style. That’s why we’re not too surprised to hear, from an Automotive News Europe report, that a Giulia wagon (rendered above) will likely join the sedan late next year. Beyond stoking the fires of wagon lovers like us, this more practical body style will help boost sales in Europe, where long-roof variants are more popular. As for its chances of making it to the United States, we won’t get our hopes up. At this point, FCA says there are “no plans” for a Giulia wagon in North America. Given the current state of the market, it seems Alfa Romeo may instead concentrate on the launch of the Giulia-based Stelvio crossover in America, a new model that’s set to make its debut before the end of 2016.If Alfa is still considering bringing the potential Giulia wagon to our shores, we’ll happily point … [Read more...] about Mamma Mia: The Alfa Romeo Giulia Wagon Is Happening!
Alfa Romeo’s long-awaited new sports sedan, the Giulia, has proven to be every bit the sexy Italian the brand needs as the follow-up to the 4C. We can’t wait to drive the new Alfa, which is due to arrive here in mid-2016. Of course, the automaker will need to further flesh out its lineup globally, both to satisfy its dealer body and to maximize the return on its investment in the Giulia’s new rear-drive platform. Our illustrator has worked up two additional Giulia-based body styles, presented here for your approval. Which one should sit alongside the Giulia sedan in Alfa showrooms? The Giulia sedan was unveiled in high-zoot, Quadrifoglio form, which will be powered by a superb-sounding, 503-hp twin-turbo V-6. With that engine, the Giulia is claimed to be good for a 3.9-second sprint from zero to 62 mph, and—according to a report on the Italian website alVolante (via World Car Fans)—a top speed of 200 mph.But of course there will lesser, more … [Read more...] about Hauling Hotties: Alfa Romeo Giulia Wagon, Crossover Rendered
As sweet as the new Alfa Romeo Giulia looks, feels, and drives, it would do all of those things better with two fewer doors.According to Automotive News, a Giulia coupe will slide into the burgeoning Alfa lineup starting in late 2018. It’s quite obvious what this car will be after, namely the Audi A5, the BMW 4-series, and the Mercedes-Benz C-class coupe. A Giulia Quadrifoglio coupe could try tearing apart the Audi RS5, BMW M4, and Mercedes-AMG C63.Instrumented Test: 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia 2.0T AWDLightning Lap 2017: Alfa Romeo Giulia QuadrifoglioFirst Drive Review: 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.0T and 2.2D Euro-SpecNothing else major is expected from the Milanese brand until 2021, when a larger sedan will appear.
