Nissan revealed the rear sketch of its upcoming CUV (Compact Utility Vehicle), Terrano, last week that explored more about the rear design of the vehicle. Now a test mule of the Terrano was spotted near Tamil Nadu that defines more about the exterior design of the vehicle. The test mule of the Terrano is not completely camouflaged and doesn’t wear any extensive changes to its body design except the front and rear-end in comparison to its sibling, Renault Duster. The Terrano is identical to the Renault Duster like other cross-badged vehicles from both automakers (Renault and Nissan) in India. The front fascia of the Nissan Terrano features a new honeycomb designed grille, re-designed bumper and new headlights which carry a sharp design. The door handles, ORVMs, roof rails and other side body parts are the same as on the Duster except the alloy wheels. The rear of the test mule is completely cloaked but the outline of new wide tail lights can be easily seen and the new rear bumper … [Read more...] about Nissan Commences Terrano Testing In India
Just recently Volkswagen discontinued the Polo 1.6 in the Indian market. The higher capacity petrol Polo was a splendid alternative for enthusiasts producing 105 BHP of power and 153 Nm of torque. But the reason why Volkswagen discontinued it could be the low margins on the vehicle. The Polo 1.6 did not receive excise benefits and the recent hike in excise duties made the vehicle quite expensive. The price difference between the Polo 1.2 (petrol) Highline and Polo 1.6 Highline wasn’t much, even though the latter did not receive small car benefits. A few months back, Volkswagen launched the Jetta with the 1.4 TSI engine, even though the 1.8 TSI engine is on use in many other Volkswagen Group cars. The company is thus focusing on downsized motors, which are more efficient. Just recently an on-test Polo with red plates (number points to Volkswagen ownership) and TSI badging was spotted on the Mumbai-Pune expressway. The vehicle features a GT badge on the left side with a rear roof … [Read more...] about Volkswagen India Testing Polo 1.2 TSI
The production ready Suzuki Baleno has been spied with several colour options. Maruti is expected to launch the premium hatchback with a new name in October this year. Suzuki has recently revealed the official pictures of the Baleno hatchback (codenamed YRA) ahead of its Frankfurt Motor Show debut on 15th September. Now, the Swift’s elder brother has been spied completely undisguised in its production ready form in India. The upcoming premium hatchback from Maruti Suzuki will be renamed for our market and will also get some India specific changes. The 2016 Suzuki Baleno is a tad longer than four metres in length for the international market but India will get slightly tweaked bumpers for ducking under the sub-4 metre category for tax benefits. The Suzuki Baleno is based on the iK-2 concept and the curvy styling has been carried over to the production version. Mahindra Quanto – 1.5 diesel engine - Expected pricing: Just under Rs 6 lakhsThere has been talk of the mini-Xylo for ages now but finally, the 'Quanto' as it will be called will hit the showrooms this festive season. The Mini Xylo (just a nickname for now) is nothing but a 4-metre version of the Xylo to help it meet the lower excise duties and take on the hatchback segment. What's new with the compact Xylo you ask? Well, quite a bit. For starters it will be a 5+2 seater, the plus two being side facing jump seats at the rear. This gives the compact Xylo a competitive edge. Other changes include a lowering of the standard features on offer as well as some changes to the trim quality to ensure that it can slip in under the Rs 5 lakh tag for the base variant, going all the way up to Rs 6.5 lakh for the fully loaded versions. To meet the lower excise duty bracket, Mahindra have also developed a three-cylinder engine, based on the current 2.2 mHawk motor that powers the Scorpio, … [Read more...] about 8 new cars hitting the road this festive season!
Here are the first pictures of scans from a brochure of the facelifted Honda City from Thailand, and they reveal a decent amount of changes to the City's overall appearance.Like most other facelifts, this one too is limited to the nose, the tail and some sprucing up of the interiorsThe facelifted City now has a new chrome grille with wider slats, a more prominent lower grille and an updated bumper and fog lamp receptacles. The headlamps too appear to be slightly altered. Interestingly the facelifted City comes with turn indicators on the mirrors and a new design for the alloy wheels. It is quite possible that either of the last two features may be deleted or altered for India, though the set of changes make the car appear more appealing to the executive swish set.At the rear a new design for the tail lamps with clear lens, a slightly high set bumper, a new chrome finish exhaust tip and Euro-regulation reflectors at the bottom make up the changes on the exterior. On the inside, the car … [Read more...] about Scoop: ACTUAL pics of facelifted Honda City
