The new tenth-generation 2016 Honda Civic has been spotted completely undisguised in Indonesia, AutonetMagz reports. The car was sighted in Jakarta without a licence plate, but instead with a plate bearing the words “All New Civic” – this indicates that it may have been in the middle of a TV commercial shoot, which would mean that a launch in the country would likely be happening soon, just after its launch in Thailand last week. Based on the machine-finish 17-inch turbine design wheels fitted to this car, it’s likely that this is the 1.5 Turbo RS model that is the range-topper in Thailand, albeit without the rear spoiler fitted to cars sold in the Kingdom. This tallies with an earlier AutonetMagz report, which revealed that a turbocharged model fitted with a CVT was undergoing type approval in Indonesia. The question is, of course, when will Malaysia get its new Civic? Well, after Indonesia, we would be the only other major right-hand drive country yet to … [Read more...] about 2016 Honda Civic spotted in Indonesia, Malaysia next?
Honda will be showing a “live” advertisement on UK’s Channel 4 at 8:10pm UK time. The 3 minute TV spot will feature a team of 19 skydivers who will attempt to form a shape in the sky that spells out “HONDA”, within the TV spot’s 3 minute time limit. This ad is part one of a two part advertising campaign called “Difficult is worth doing”. The other part is a TV commercial that has already been recorded. The video is called “The Jump”, and features 45 skydivers that will form shapes in the sky showcasing new technologies in the recently unveiled UK market Honda Accord. The ad is choreographed by aerial stunt coordinator BJ Worth, whose film credits include scenes from several James Bond films. These skydivers may fall at speeds up to 480km/h, and the cameraman also has to skydive. The problem is the cameraman has to skydive faster than the actors, so he has to curl into a ball in order to fall faster, all while filming the ad … [Read more...] about Honda Accord “Difficult is worth doing” Campaign

Domestic passenger car sales for May 2014 opened on a mixed note for the top three carmakers. Honda Cars India has been able to post a significant increase riding on the new City sedan. Tata Motors put in another disappointing show with sales dropping 17 percent as compared to May 2013 but increasing over April 2014 sales of around 7,000-odd units. The company completes a year this June of its Horizonext initiative. Do these sales make any clear statement that consumer sentiment has improved after the new government took over last month? Preparing for the incoming onslaught from Hero MotoCorp and TVS Motor Company in the 125cc scooter category, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) is readying a stylish 125cc scooter model, which is scheduled for commercial launch during the post-festive season in the domestic market. Despite his estimated fortune of $70 billion or so, Bill Gates would be stone-cold broke in less than a week if he went through money as fast as Super Bowl advertisers. Thirty-second spots reportedly sold for around $4 million a pop for Super Bowl XLVIII, which, if I did the math correctly, means Bill could afford to purchase just 145 hours, or roughly six days, of airtime. In fact, by the time you saw most of these spots on the air, you probably already viewed them elsewhere, including right here in C/D‘s “The Ad Section.” Were they worth the huge price tags?
