I just got back from checking out these Chargers that were pulled from seperate junk yards in the early 70’s and stored ever since. Think there just aren’t any Mopars out there left to find? We have a story that will change your mind. I saw these cars for myself, and the story is legit. You’ll have to pick up Mopar Muscle to check it out for yourself, but I guarantee the story of these cars is worth the price of a subscription. And you might just see one of them at this year’s Mopar Nationals! … [Read more...] about Hidden Treasures, Look what you can read about in Mopar Muscle
The 2015 Hellcat-powered Challenger is SRT’s answer to the Camaro ZL1 and Z/28 and the Mustang GT500, according to SRT CEO and President Ralph Gilles, meaning it is going to have to possess one hell of a lethal engine under the hood. Well have no fear. Mopar Muscle has managed to secure these shots of the 2015 Hellcat Challenger prototypes, which prove that some of the rumors infesting the internet are true. The Challengers in these pictures sport front fascia camouflage and have for a year now, so you may have seen a few of these shots already. However, take a look at the two pictures of the Challenger with the hood raised. There is a very clear view of a massive supercharger applied to the Hemi V-8 engine. Though it is hard to say for certain, the front camouflage seems to hide a new lower air-intake making it easier for the Challenger to breathe, and the exhaust looks different, which might require a new rear bumper design. It is still unclear as to whether this new Hellcat … [Read more...] about Mopar Muscle Secures SPY SHOTS of Supercharged Hellcat Hemi!
Mopar Muscle has gotten our hands on these shots of the 2015 Dodge Challenger taken during testing. The revamped model features styling cues from several other new prototypes on the Detroit test circuit. While much of the sides of the Challenger are exposed, the camouflage of the front and rear fascia suggest serious revisions. While earlier camouflaging suggested minor changes of the nose of the Challenger, these latest shots suggest something much more sinister. While we had originally noticed the existing grille and headlights beyond the earlier disguise, these shots elude to several changes including new LED accents around new headlights. The outer ring appeared to include amber turn signals, which weren’t caught on camera. There also appears to be a different hood hidden under newly-applied camo, while the original prototypes were outfitted with the existing hood. The rear covering begins about midway into the rear fender and covers the entirety of the trunk and rear bumper. … [Read more...] about All-New 2015 Challenger Spy Shots Secured by Mopar Muscle
Do you want to see your Mopar in the “Penta Stars” section of Mopar Muscle–instead of this archival shot of a ’59 Dodge Coronet D500 in CHP trim? (We thought so!) It’s time to share your Mopar pride and joy with your fellow Mopar Muscle readers. The best way to do that is to e-mail us some clear, sharp digital pictures of it, including an everything-shut wide shot of the entire car by itself (no cut-off or showfield shots, please), and details of the interior and engine bay. Be sure your digital images have a 750 KB-2 MB file size, 4 x 6 inches image size and 300 dpi resolution. Include about 150-200 words (TOPS!) describing it, then e-mail that and your pictures to [email protected] If clear, sharp 4 x 6 inch prints on regular photo paper are what you have, send them and the info on your car (150-200 words tops) via US Mail or Canada Post. … [Read more...] about Mopar Muscle Magazine – Penta Stars Readers Rides
For the first time in Mopar Muscle history, we’re swinging the doors wide open and letting every Mopar on the planet get featured, and not just on the Internet site, we’re talking the print magazine. We don’t care what it is, if it’s a Mopar, we’re running it. You read right: Every single car gets featured. It sounds kind of insane, but look at it this way—you spend all your time and money building your pride and joy, then send pix of your finished project to your favorite magazine, only to get rejected. I know, because I’m the rejector-in-chief here at Mopar Muscle. I feel sorta bad about that, but there are only so many trees in the forest on which to print a magazine. Tough choices must be made in the name of economic reality. Here’s the thing—just because a car isn’t packing a 700hp engine and isn’t loaded down with high-tech suspension, big brakes, a rollcage, or a fancy pedigree doesn’t mean it’s not … [Read more...] about Get Your Car In Mopar Muscle!
Between 2002 and 2010, I watched along with many of you as Mopar Muscle Editor Randy Bolig built and tested Project Valiant Effort, Randy’s brutally simple, refrigerator white 1967 Plymouth Valiant. As editor of Popular Hot Rodding, I always envied that little econobox Mopar for its bantamweight punch and affordable acquisition price. As a big fan of Valiant Effort, I’d ask Randy how it was coming along, and felt sadness when he eventually sold it after eight years without having drag tested it. We’ll never know what the 414ci small-block with 519 hp could do for Chrysler’s shortest wheelbase A-Body. Nevertheless, there’s no arguing that a snotty little motor in a light, cost-effective platform is the way to go fast on the cheap. In February of 2012, I decided to act. It was time PHR readers had a dose of how to do a Mopar, only this time we’d be going straight for the jugular right out of the gate—big motor, bombproof tranny and rear, a modern … [Read more...] about Mopar Muscle Reboots the 1968 Plymouth Valiant
We attend many events around the country, and one of our favorites has to be the Moparty at the Strip car show, autocross, and drag race held annually in Las Vegas, Nevada. During this spring event, Mopar Muscle hosts a friendly competition called the True Street Challenge, which is open to eight cars that have previously entered in either the car show or drag race during the weekend. As the name implies, our True Street Challenge is an all-around performance, drivability, and appearance test for classic Mopars, and is a fun opportunity to get your car in the magazine. After choosing eight contestants from the applications we got for the challenge, the entrants are notified and we meet at The Strip (the dragstrip, not the Casinos), for the event. The Mopar Muscle True Street Challenge begins Friday morning, but this year we needed to get it in quick due to the threat of rain. After arriving in the reserved parking area just inside the gate, all of the cars are given the rules of the … [Read more...] about The 2012 Mopar Muscle True Street Challenge
What began as a simple post on our Facebook page snowballed into something larger than I had planned. All I did was ask our Facebook followers to let us know what they thought was the best Mopar muscle car. I got such an overwhelming response that I thought I would also ask our print readers the same question. So in my editorial in the Aug. ’12 issue, I asked the same question so we could get an unscientifically accurate response from a large group of people. Sure, we could have come up with a list ourselves and told you what we thought the best cars are, but that’s no fun, and since opinions vary, we needed to gather a large consensus. We got a lot more responses than we thought we would, but that also affords us a greater degree of accuracy when our popular vote is tallied. What we got from both groups was an eclectic list, and since we have no input into what should be on it, we had no way to know what would end up on the list. Now, with the suggestions tallied, we … [Read more...] about Mopar Muscle Cars – The Best Of The Best

monster trucks seem to join the Monster Jam circuit every year, but it's not often that one gets the official blessing of an automaker. That's about to change, however, as Chrysler's truck division has teamed up once again with Hall Brothers Racing – which already fields the championship-winning Raminator and Rammunition trucks – to field the series' first new Original Equipment Manufacturer monster truck in over a decade.Dubbed Mopar Muscle, the new Ram monster truck will debut at the Monster Jam in Detroit on Saturday at Ford Field, at the first of six such events in which Mike Miller (who, incidentally, named his son Hemi) will drive the truck throughout the year. Here's what you need to know: Based on a 2014 Ram HD pickup (or at least made to look like one), Mopar Muscle stands 10 feet tall and weighs over 10,000 pounds, and it's powered by the legendary Gen II 426 Hemi that celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. But instead of leaving the massive 7.0-liter engine as … [Read more...] about Mopar Muscle is Monster Jam’s first OEM monster truck in over a decade
